Every email sent from me will be in the voice of various characters from Paradise Lot's universe. They’re going to give you a bit extra story and a deeper insight as to what is really happening. Think of it as a behind-the-scenes look into Paradise Lot and a chance to to see what certain characters are doing ‘off-camera’. Your first story is already in your inbox. The Premise and the Plot
The gods are gone … all of them.
Their last message to humanity was: "Thank you for believing in us, but it is not enough. We're leaving. Good luck." At first no one took them seriously. Until, that is, all the denizens of all the heavens and hells started showing up on people's doorsteps.
Creatures that were once thought of as myth—angels, dragons, fairies, minotaurs…even Medusa—are now refugees striving to adapt to life on earth. Trouble is, after eons of living forever, they're not very good at being mortal.
Caught in the middle is Jean-Luc, a struggling hotelier who (reluctantly) promised to help these wayward 'Others' live in this new GoneGod world. But taking care of his guests, keeping his hotel afloat and dealing with the constant drama of the Others' lives is figuratively killing him. And now that an unusually strange Other is in town, his figurative demise might soon become more literal.
Meet the Cast
The human Jean-Luc: Hotelier who wears a black collarless jacket. Think Hipster Priest meets Japanese High School Student.
The angel Penemue: 8 feet, muscular build, white dove-like wings, wears tweed. Penemue is an alcoholic who insists that Drambuie is the closest thing humans have to Ambrosia.
The gorgon Medusa: Bubble-gum, cutesy girl with a head full of venomous snakes. Not more more to say about her.
The fairy TinkerBelle: Tiny, golden fairy who lives in an original He-Man Castle Grayskull that sits on Jean-Luc’s shelf. Her name probably isn't TinkerBelle, but we can't know for sure since she doesn't speak.
The succubus Astarte: Androgynous succubus. Conducts orgies. . .ahh. . .and orgies.
The poltergeist Judith: Jean-Luc's mother-in-law who returned from the dead. Still wears the Sunday dress they buried her in.
